The Friends of Mile Oak (FOMO) are a Parent Teacher Association whose aim is to support the school in the development of the home school community and to raise much needed funds. These funds will help enhance the facilities for education at the school.
We generally meet for an hour, once a month, on a Monday evening. Details of when the next meeting is can be found on the FOMO Notice Board in the main entrance of the School.
We are a registered charity and have four post-holders:
- Kelly Robertson – Chair
- Jo Golds – Treasurer
- Rana Miller – Secretary
We always welcome more help! Without the support of parents and carers FOMO will cease to exist. If you can’t commit to attending monthly meetings – don’t feel that you can’t get involved, many members come as and when they can. Every effort is much appreciated and helps us to provide more for all of our children at the school.
All parents, carers and staff of Mile Oak Primary School are welcome. Whether you would like to come along to the FOMO meetings, suggest ideas, help with the organisation and running of an event, or simply support us by assisting and volunteering your help at a fundraising activity at the School. Everyone has varying levels of time available to help support the School and any help given is gratefully received.
Fundraising. We have raised funds by organising these type of events in the past:-
- social events such as the FOMO Quiz Night
- Christmas activities for the children of the school, ie the production of Christmas cards
- textile recycling collections.
- Summer Fairs, Fireworks Nights and School Discos
We aim to have a variety of interesting activities which both parents, carers, staff and children can all enjoy being part of whilst also benefiting the School.
