 Healthy school

At Mile oak we believe that good health and a positive attitude are key to all we do. We encourage children to take responsibility for what they eat and teach them the merits of a healthy diet. We encourage exercise and healthy ways of travelling to school- whether that be on foot, by scooter or by bicycle. We are a Bike it school and take part in local and nationally promoted travel initiatives like Walk to school week and the Big Pedal.

Our very popular Let’s get cooking club runs after school and introduces children to basic cooking skills and cookery techniques. We believe strongly that knowing how to cook is a key life skill. The club format is that children cook a number of dishes over 5 weeks and on the 6th week invite their parents and carers in for a celebration award session and eatathon!
